An Internet Protocol (IP) camera converts live images and audio into data and then transmits this data over the Internet or local network. This gives many advantages over traditional analogue CCTV systems, primarily making an IP CCTV system more flexible, easier to install and in many cases far more cost effective.
Having the ability to alert you instantly to incidents as they happen, IP CCTV cameras are ideal where you want video surveillance without an audible alarm sounding every time movement is detected. For example, have you ever thought about protecting your home with an intruder alarm or security system but haven't because the pets would set the alarm off? Protecting your home with an IP CCTV System means that you will still be alerted to any movement; alarms won’t sound, but your property is still protected through live video streamed recordings.

Feel in control as you take charge of your own security prevention. Find peace of mind by monitoring your Home or Small Business from your Mobile Phone, PC or Laptop by using an IP CCTV surveillance system.
Because the data from the IP CCTV cameras are transmitted to the Internet, you can access this where ever you are in the world. By logging on to your camera using your own secure password, you can access and control your cameras from any computer attached to a network. You can even access your cameras through any MMS enabled mobile phone, giving you control where ever you are.

The cameras can be configured to send you motion activated instant alerts. These can be sent to your mobile phone, Blackberry, iPhone, Windows Mobile or through Webmail, email or Microsoft Outlook. You can then access your cameras and take a look at what's happening almost immediately! You can also "rewind" the recordings to take a look at past events, alert the authorities if necessary, or decide whether or not any action needs to be taken at all! All from the safe distance from where ever you happen to be!

As with digital cameras, all images and audio from the IP Cameras are turned into data. This data is held on a secure remote server which provides virtually unlimited renewable space for your recordings, so you can store as many recordings as you wish. You protect this data with a secure login and password personal to yourself, so that you have complete control over who has access to your recordings.
Consequently, should you have a fire, flood or theft, it doesn't matter what equipment is damaged, stolen or lost because the evidence is held away from your premises.
Alternatively, you can keep your recordings on your own Personal Computer - that's just how flexible IP CCTV Systems can be!

How your system works is up to you, with a choice of cameras, connection methods and configurations almost any solution is possible!
You can decide how and when you receive instant alerts, how many people receive them - even if you want any instant alerts at all!
You choose where your recordings are stored and for how long, you control your cameras so they only record when you want them to.

All an IP CCTV System needs to operate is mains power and a broadband connection administered by a router, you probably already have this in your home through an Internet Service Provider such as BT, Virgin Media or Sky. As an IPCCTV System will use an existing IP network, either wired or wireless, this makes installing IPCCTV simple by reducing the time required and minimizing unsightly cables. Cameras can connect to the router either with a wire or wirelessly, and therefore only require power. POE (Power over Ethernet) cameras are powered through the network cable, and therefore do not even require separate power. In theory, a camera can be installed anywhere you choose as long as mains power is available.
Our range of cameras will offer a solution to your needs. They can offer either wireless or hard wired connection, day and night vision, sound and/or picture only, and internal or external surveillance.
An Internet Protocol (IP) camera connects to a computer network, sending live images as data to a server. These images can then be accessed through a variety of different means, wherever you happen to be, via the internet.
We offer a free on site survey to assess your installation requirements and costs. We can install the cameras alone, or a fully operational system. But together with Dolphin Computer Upgrades Ltd, we also offer full back up IT support to keep your system running trouble free at all times.
IP CCTV systems afford many advantages over traditional CCTV systems. Being extremely flexible in their configuration, it is simple to adapt the system to your personal needs. Motion detected alerts to your mobile phone means you can respond to incidents as they happen. Remote storage of the data, independent of your equipment, keeps all recordings secure and accessible.
